Author: Justin Flett; Javelin Technologies The data files are stored by default in the C: ProgramData SolidWorks Electrical directory and include all the electronic data for projects, library symbols, templates, reports, macros and so on. This default location is defined during the initial installation process. ProgramData Folder Location If you are browsing your C: Drive and can’t seem to find a ProgramData folder it is most likely because your Windows settings have been set to not show hidden folders.
This is a quick fix, simply click on the “ Organize” drop down in your Windows explorer and select “ Folder and search options”. Windows Folder and Search Options From here click on the ‘ View’ tab and select the ‘ Show hidden files, folders, and drives’ option under the Advanced settings. Hidden Files and Folders You should now be able to see your ProgramData folder and can easy direct yourself to all of your SOLIDWORKS Electrical data files!
